Safety Rules and Regulations

Every member is expected to be aware of all safety rules and regulations. The rules are to be followed during guarded and non-guarded hours. The Pleasanton Valley Club Board of Directors requests that every member cooperates in the collective enforcement of these rules and regulations.


All Children must be under the supervision of an adult at all times. 


The lifeguard on duty has the authority to ask someone to stop a behavior that is a danger to themselves or others. 

Pool Rules

  • Walk Only, no running on the pool deck. 
  • No diving in the shallow end. 
  • Do not hang on the separation lines.
  •  No roughhousing, horseplay or chicken fights. 
  • No twisting, flipping or jumping backwards into the pool from the deck.
  •  No glass containers. 
  • Kickboards are only used for lap swimming. 
  • Floatation devices are not allowed, including life jackets. 
  • Water Balloons are not permitted in the pool. Grass area only.

Health & Safety Rules

  • Persons having currently active diarrhea or who have had active diarrhea within the previous 14 days shall not be allowed to enter the pool water.
  • No spitting on the decks or in the water. 
  • Children who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper 
  • Swimmers may not have an open wound, sores or infection. 
  • Report all injuries to the lifeguard, no matter how small. 
  • Report all incidences of illness or accidents to the lifeguard. 
  •  If the facility experiences a power outage, the pool will be cleared. 
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere within the gates of the pool premises. 
  • No pets are allowed anywhere within the gates of the pool premises. 
  • Keep our community safe. Stay home if you are sick or feeling ill. 
  • It is recommended to stay home for 10 days after testing positive for COVID.

Member Conduct Policy

  • Profanity, vulgarity, or improper behavior will not be tolerated. 
  • No loud or disorderly conduct. 
  • Any behavior resulting in a police complaint will be reported to the Board of Directors and may result in a loss of key privileges. 
  • Members are responsible for their guests and must stay on the property with their guests. 
  • Members are responsible for cleaning up their trash and belongings before they leave the club.
  • PVC employees are only permitted to provide formalized swim instruction.

Entrance Policy

  • While lifeguard is on duty, children ages 12 and under are required to have adult supervision.
  • When lifeguard is not present, adult supervision for those under the age of 18 is required.
  • Do not swim alone
  • If you feel ill, stay home.
  • It is the responsibility of the host member to inform guests to follow the rules and regulations. 
  • Swim test may be required to ensure safety of members over the age of 12 to swim when a lifeguard is not present.
  • Swimming privileges: (based on safety), the guard has the discretion to limit pool use or limit a section of the pool to be used by a swimmer. 
  • Parents are responsible for the conduct of members and guest under the age of 18.
  • Member must be present and inform staff of guest attendance. Maximum of 2 guests per member. $3.00 (CashOnly) per guest.
  • Childcare provider may accompany children to the pool. They must be over the age of 16 and may not bring guests. Groups larger than 5 must notify management. 
  • Authorized personnel only in the pool office and pump room. 
  • Facility keys must remain in the members’ possession and may not be loaned out to anyone. 
  • Members who loaning or share their membership access key card will be subject to suspension of membership. 
  • Members are not permitted to prop open front gate.
  • All organized group events and parties, must be cleared with the business office. 
  • Groups with minor children attending (birthday parties, sport’s parties, etc) require a lifeguard. Members holding unauthorized parties will be billed. 
  •  Bike riding, skateboarding and rollerblading is not permitted inside the facility.

Violation of these rules and regulations may result in disciplinary action by the Board of Directors that could include loss of membership privileges.
